(More customer reviews)This is a great tool if you are looking for a quick sharp attact, but still want some body with it. Being a smaller crash it has great high overtones and quick delay, but it is much larger than a spash so it has more sustain and heaviness.
I love the bright crash cymbals, Sabian AAX or Zildjian A custom, and this is one cymbal that fits the mold very well. I use it for many applications from live playing, recording, rock/pop, to jazz/funk. Always in my cymbal bag whenever and wherever I play.

I recieved it today in the mail, its a lot smaller then i thought it would be. it says on it that its made in germany but it sounds almost a little bit chinese. the sound is pretty good. fast accent, no ring to it, which is good for a splash. and the price is unbeatle. where else can you get a new splash for 20 bucks? Yes yes yes, zildjian and sabian and paiste's are better but at 140 bucks id rather have 7 of these things. go ahead and buy it its nice.

Remo Pinstripe PrePak Drumheads with Coated Snare Head Review

(More customer reviews)Sweet. Remo is second to none when it comes to drumheads - that's the first thing you need to know. From the Kevlar WhiteMax to the oil-filled pinstripes you can always find something in your size, tone, and price range. This is one of my favorite sets when paired with tone rings, and then I tune them until I can get a nice soft yet punchy attack, with a beautiful warm decay (I'll tune down my bottom head to heighten the effect). Very versatile when covering multiple genres. Now, on to the coated snare head.
I personally love the simplicity of a coated Powerstroke-3. I love how they are built to minimize overtones, and I find them very responsive at all stick heights. Most likely what your school snares have on them, though the coating has long since been beaten off from years of use. I wonder if anyone has thought to use Amazon reviews as a blog - aside from me thinking about it right now...

Why bother with standard coated heads that will eventually wear out in the middle?!!! The textured surface gives brush work a nice, smooth sound that I prefer over standard coated heads. I'm amazed that these heads aren't more-widely used in rock and pop. Do try one out on your snare!

Gator GP-12 Padded Cymbal Slinger Bag Review

(More customer reviews)I found the Gator GP-12 bag rugged enough, but... it was advertised capable of holding up to 22" cymbals. I think that's just plain misleading. I typically carry one 22", and either a 20" and an 18", or two twenties, along with a pair of 14" hi hats. I found this bag extremely difficult to use because the cymbals simply do not want to all fit. I don't think that I should have to struggle at the end of a long night to get my bag to carry 4 or 5 cymbals. That's not asking too much. I ended up taking out the loose fitting liners, and even then, it would barely zip. I shouldn't have had to do that. I would not recommend this bag to anyone carrying a 22" cymbal. Look elsewhere.

The good point is that the hole is pre cut and the black gloss prevent the audience to see the blanket / pillow / mike mess inside. So I do not hear, but I see a difference.

Sound Percussion Double Boom Cymbal Stands - 2-pack Review

I tend to favor the Pearl equipment and had reviewed several of their stands when I happened to see these stands on Musician Friend. As a result of the low price, I had my doubts about the stands, but the reviews were glowing so I took the plunge. You should too, these are outstanding stands. When I opened the box and felt the quality of the stand, I was amazed. They have all of the features of the Pearl stands that I reviewed in the $150 range.
The finish is perfectly smooth and there is the right balance of weight to the stand. The boom completely hides in the stand body when you need to transport the stand. You can adjust the height via the extension and the three legs. You can adjust the tilt angle of the boom and of course you can rotate both the extension and boom 360 degrees (the boom has knurled sections, which improves the holding clamp's grip). The boom and cymbal holder tilts are both notched (a great benefit).
I am also impressed by the cymbal washer and spacer. My son used the Aquarian Cymbal Spring to allow the cymbals to ring better. We did not want to risk damaging the threads on the new SP stands so we used their cymbal washer and spacer. The cymbal have the same perfect ring.
In conclusion, these are awesome cymbal stands. They look great and function even better. You cannot go wrong with these and I cannot understand how anyone can rate them anything less than five stars.

this head is used by many professional drummers, including Travis Barker.
it is great for hard hitters and can get supertight.

Alesis Electronic Cymbal Trigger for DM5 PRO Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I decided to get this cymbal for my Rock Band ION set. I have to say it's an awesome add on. In my opinion, this cymbal is a bit quieter than the ION cymbals that come with the set. The overall quality of the product is great and the size is great. You end up saving a couple of inches from the back if you're worried about storage space when you're not playing or if you're playing against a wall (remember you can use the IONs as a real drumset or play Rock Band on freestyle)... then again, the ION cymbals are huge compared to this one so you'd have to have all 3 to actually save some space.
I hadn't played Rock Band with cymbals until I got the ION set and I have to say it adds a lot to the game. It's more realistic and much MUCH harder to play the game... and you look a hell of a lot cooler! You won't get any sign or cue of when you should hit the cymbals so it's ok if you hit the pad when it's a cymbal hit and vice versa... I guess you just have to feel when you're supposed to hit it or learn when. I hope this gets taken care of in Rock Band 3 or in a patch for Rock Band 2. I haven't learned any of the songs by memory so I still have to look at the colors on the screen, so it's confusing to have the green cymbal (crash) on the left and the blue one (ride) on the right. Of course I can just swap them but I'm going for the traditional drum setup so it's just a matter of choice.

Zildjian 18-Inch ZHT Fast Crash Cymbal Review

The cymbals were not of good quality. Remembering the Zildjian cymbals I had yrs ago, I bought this cymbal to use until I can afford better Zildjians. To this point of my middle aged retrospective drum playing, I am very satisfied with this product. It does have a nice crash sound and carries the tone very well.
