(More customer reviews)I ordered this product through a different online store but wanted to share a very quick review with you.
I purchased this for use with my LP Matador bongos. These must be the heaviest bongos you can buy. With this stand, I am able to brace them firmly. I can hit them as hard as I need to and thanks to the stand's build and weight, there's no sway or movement. What I am trying to say, in a few words, this is a very solid stand and I did no have to make any special changes to it to work perfectly with my LP's. If you have a different brand of bongo, I cannot comment as to the fit but the bracket is universal and should work well with pretty much any type of bongos.
Compared to other stands I considered (online), this is a very solid buy at a very aggressive price.

I have another drum (much larger) made by the same company, and a person can definately tell that these are high quality instruments. It looks cool too! When I first got it, I thought that even if it doesn't play well, it still looks cool! But I was very pleased to find that this instrument feels and sounds wonderfull!

Rhythm Band RB2319 Soft Rubber Mallets Review

(More customer reviews)bought this because it seems to have a small and soft head to be used on my hapi drum. the ones that i have now are larger and make to loud a volume giving bad reverberations. the head is small but abit too hard for my liking. the handles are long, and seems to be made of cheap plastic. it does give a lower volume compared to my bigger head mallets but because its rather hard, theres a knocking sound generated also that i dont like. then again, its cheap so i cant complain.

Light Wood Tunable Bongos with Tuning Key Review

(More customer reviews)The hardware associated with tuning the bongo is cheap plastic - not metal. We asked a music teacher to 'tune' our purchase and on his first attempt to tune the bongos - while adjusting the tuning screw - the plastic holder broke. From our perspective - this is NOT a quality instrument that is worth the money we spent on it - when the hardware is simply molded plastic. I don't feel we received our money's worth on this selection. In order to fix our purchase and make it usable - we would have to purchase new metal tuning screw holders from a music store and retrofit them to the bongos.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this set of bongos as a birthday present for my 7 year-old son. They came out of the box pretty much ready to play, just a few turns of the tuning wrench had them good to go. I was pretty impressed by the sturdy construction and the real skin heads.
My son has been happily beating on this set for a couple of weeks now, and he seems to really be enjoying them. The skins have broken in now with the frequent playing, and that has softened the tone a little. This set really packs a good sound into a small package. Highly recommended if you want a good set of starter bongos for yourself or your kids. Would also make a good travel set or something to keep in your office for those days when you just want to bang your own drum.

The quality is outstanding and I could believe how nice this stand was. I want to a few music stores and the cheapest I could find was $70 dollars more or less. This stand is about $40 including shipping and handling and I think its better than what I could find. I very happy!

I was skeptical about them being up to his standards as he's a trained percussionist from his youth and although he has since gone into a more professional career as an adult he still knows whats-what when it comes to anything drums.
And.... he LOVED them. He was surprised that Amazon carried such a professional brand. He said they were better than the set he already had.
What do you get the guy who has everything? Something he already has and loves, of course!! So he has now started a small collection of bongos and likes to have jam sessions with family and friends whenever possible... and having more than one set now makes this possible.
I may have to buy myself a set so I can practice for our future jam sessions! :)

Stagg Music Wood Bongo Drums BW100N Review

(More customer reviews)These bongos are nicely finished and made from an attractive, light colored wood. Comes with a drum key in a little storage pouch for tuning, and the pouch is attached with a lanyard so it isn't lost. Skin heads seem to be good quality, as are the hoops and hardware. A little tuning and they sound very good! Lots of fun to play too, even if you're not a percussionist. My daughter and I have a blast playing together in various fun ways, and I also find it to be an unexpectedly great way to relax.
It's a good idea to back off the tension evenly and apply a drop or two of light household oil to the threads before tuning the heads. This makes tuning a lot easier and will make the hardware last a lot longer, as the threads are totally without lubrication when shipped, and rather stiff. Just dab a paper towel to catch any excess oil and be sure to keep it off the skins.
Altogether I think that bongos are a lot more fun than I imagined, and these seem to be quite satisfactory for informal use, especially for the price.
