Remo Djembe Fossil Fantasy 24x12 Inch Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I'll start with the fact that I don't play drums, I just act like everyone else who loves tapping stuff with their hands to a random beat. I have played guitar for a while, so I'm not new to music. I just wanted to add some variety out here in Iraq while deployed since there are other musicians in my unit.
This drum is compact (relative to a drum set), but it has great tone. The bass has some punch to it and as you move away from the center, the tones get sharper. If you're looking to add a little beat to an acoustic guitar, this is fun and simple but over time, can get as complex as you want. Just be sure to leave some air space between the bottom of the drum and the floor. A slight cant also allows the sound not to bounce back into the drum.
I love the look of this Remo Djembe, the fossil pattern is cool and the Remo seal is nice and shiny. The attached sling is nice and sturdy but I prefer playing it sitting down.
I wouldn't know how to tune a drum, but I'm glad they made it that easy too. All in all, this was a great investment to have some fun while out here.

Toca Synergy Freestyle Mechanically Tuned Djembe Abstract Red 14" Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I'm a full-time professional musician. I'm a multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, bass, accordion, harmonium, and percussion, but my main instruments are piano and organ. This drum is just perfect for someone like me. I went with this djembe because of the lightweight, artificial body and mechanical tuning (didn't want to have to deal with the ropes). But the fact that it features an authentic goatskin head gives it fantastic tone. The lows are thunderous, and the snaps and slaps cut like crazy with no resonant overtones.
You can get so many different tones out this drum. Be sure to experiment with all the different parts of the head and different hand strikes (open palm, cupped palm, fingers, etc.) It really is like having an entire drum kit in one drum. It records great too.
Also, since I play a bunch of instruments, I'm always carrying a bunch of instruments. The fact that this size drum comes with the bag with backpack straps frees up both of my hands for more stuff.
At well under $200, you can't go wrong.

African Djembe Drum Necklace Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The X8 Drums' African Djembe Drum Necklace from Senegal is a wonderful little "Thinking of you" gift for the percussionist(s) in your life. It's fun for drum circle gatherings, for "African" multicultural activities, and for enhancement of personal appearance / style! :) This necklace is a highly tactile item, which feels hand wrought and unique. While not wearing the necklace, one can do some gentle, little one-finger tapping for some mini-music--sounds like little wood slaps. The product is a celebration of joyful djembe drums and their soul-stirring, potentially healing music. I understand from Amazon's description and the seller's own website that buyers of this djembe necklace are helping a special effort that supports orphanages in Africa. Such purchases are helping to provide a means of support for communities and craftsmen in Africa. For that reason among others like product satisfaction, I hope Amazon will continue to offer these in their online stores.

Profile Bag for Djembe Drum - 11 to 12 Inches Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have not yet bought this bag, but I am saving up to do so. I am tired of my old low-resolution djembe bag. My strap and carry handle are sort of grainy - I know there's better technology out there. Also, I particularly like the 12VDC feature, so I can use a transformer and wall plug with it, instead of lugging around those thirty AAA batteries my old bag used. A better gig bag all around, I think, and look at that viewing angle! Upside down - who knew? This will definitely move my playing up a notch!

24X12" Djembe Drum w/ Mandala Design Hand Drum Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I am highly satisfied with the sound and playability of this drum. It is not a large drum, but does create a large sound. I have another drum (much larger) made by the same company, and a person can definately tell that these are high quality instruments. It looks cool too! When I first got it, I thought that even if it doesn't play well, it still looks cool! But I was very pleased to find that this instrument feels and sounds wonderfull!

Djembe Drum Strap Cloth Standing Strap Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I was well please with my purchase of one of these straps. The strap I received is strong, well-made, and definitely long enough for what I needed with my djembe playing sessions. [I have a rope tuned djembe.] What is nice about this product is...
1) Its strength and size; quality
2) Its joyful cultural design [though please note--you do not get to pick the color or the design. For me, that was ok. :) I like surprises. I actually liked what was chose for me. Interestingly enough, it matched my drum perfectly. The strap actually added some more personality to my drum.]
3) It came with directions on how to use the strap for different positions, which is helpful.
4) The seller was prompt with shipping, and the product was packed well.
I would buy from this seller again. :)

Doumbek, Ceramic, 5"x8", Black Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This doumbek is small but handy, and can easily be carried around. It's an inexpensive way to get started playing, and see if you want to invest in a bigger, pricier model. Also nice for a child or young person to play. It gives a pretty good tone, both in the center and at the rim. This CD is great to learn with: Doumbek Instruction, Rhythm Rides CD

Toca Vuur Djembe, 12 Inches Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)As a Drum Circle Facilitator, I have dozens of hand drums and percussion pieces. But of all of them, this mahogany wood, goatskin head, rope-tuned 12" diameter Toca Vuur is my favorite. It's the one I set aside for ME to play! The bass sound is deep, the tones and slaps are crisp. It's just the right size for a woman of average height. I can tip it forward to get the full sound volume, without having to use a stand. Also, the simple line carvings on the Vuur are quite attractive. This is the djembe to purchase if you've been in drum circles and are ready to graduate from a synthetic shell amd head to a solid wood hand drum, without breaking the bank.

Djembe Bag XXL - Adjustable Backpack Straps - Extra Padding and 2 Zippers - Blue Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Compared to most of the bags available, this is a great bag.My drum is 23" tall / 14" wide and this bag fit like a glove!
I had about 2" of head room at the top Which I filled with a piece of foam. The padding around the entire drum is awesome. It more than holds up to a few "drops" or slips down a hill. The back pack straps a comfortable as well;real nice if you have to
take longer hikes to the drum circle.Considering that most plain, average looking bags cost the same,if not more, the design and color are great bonus.I highly recommend(drummer of 20 years).

KALAMATIN CARVED 24 X 12 DJEMBE HAND DRUM Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)pretty good drum. attractive. i bought it as a christmas gift for husband. he enjoys the drum very much so do the little kids who are small enough to fit the size of the drum. i was a little disappointed by the size of the drum considering the expensive amount for shipping. the cost of the drum was good but shipping costs made it very expensive. i would have paid less getting it directly from the drum company.
