Percussion Plus Bell Kit 2-1/2 Octave Review

Percussion Plus Bell Kit 2-1/2 Octave

I bought this as a simple alternative to handbells in my compositions. It sounds nice, and the mallets are great. I wish it had an extra octave or two lower, but perhaps that will be included in a future model. I'd recommend it.

BeBoP Childs Rainbow Rhythm Percussion Set with a FREE CD & Songbook Review

BeBoP Childs Rainbow Rhythm Percussion Set with a FREE CD and Songbook

This is a great instrument set for young children. It's colorful, each instrument is easy to play and they're very durable. It comes with a CD and booklet so parents that aren't musicians can help their kids do more than just shake everything. You can actually match the rhythm of the music and teach kids to play along, keeping time to the CD. I'm a big believer in introducing children to music and rhythm at a young age and this set is perfect!

CB Percussion 6854 Bell Kit Review

El xilofono es bueno y viene en una buena maleta.
Pero no me gustó el sonido que tiene, ya que las escalas que tiene, son demasiado altas y metálicas. No es muy agradable de oir.

Innovative Percussion Hard Xylophone or Bell Mallet, Birch Review

Innovative Percussion Hard Xylophone or Bell Mallet, Birch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is an outstanding xylophone mallet, and transfers well over to glockenspiel and orchestral crotales. This is the choice mallet for playing with larger groups, especially orchestras and wind ensembles. The staccato sound of the xylophone is enunciated when struck with these mallets, and simultaneously produces a resonant tone. On certain xylophones, especially ones made of rosewood, these might damage the instrument. I would also highly recommend NOT playing these on a xylorimba, marimba, vibraphone, or set of tubular bells. However, specifically for the xylophone, they are a perfectly designed mallet. On xylophones made of kelon, the mallets produce an especially sonorous sound while maintaining the staccato nature of the instrument.

Verve BK2000R Combination Percussion Bell and Snare Learning Kit With Rolling Cart Review

Verve BK2000R Combination Percussion Bell and Snare Learning Kit With Rolling Cart

This drum and bell kit was less expensive than renting a similar kit from the school. My daughter started 6th grade band this year and is basically trying percussion. For a "starter" instrument, I have been quite pleased with this kit. So far, it has been very durable, and works very well in band classes. The instructor was surprised that I found a kit of this quality for the price. It's certainly not a concert-quality instrument, but it is just the ticket for a first-timer. If my daughter stays with percussion and "upgrades" later, I am certain I can resell this kit locally and get almost every penny back. Both I and my daughter have been very happy with it.

Rhythm Band Rockin Rhythm Bag Review

Rhythm Band Rockin Rhythm Bag

Although there were no product reviews for this set, after much research on the alternative options available for a kid's starter music set I took a chance and ordered it. We're very pleased with the contents of the "Rhythm Bag"! Nice quality and our 2.5 year olds love the instruments. The maracas are very sturdy, large and make a nice sound (ours are purple although the photo shows them as red, but it doesn't matter to us). I priced it out to buy similar items from Amazon individually in order to make our own set and this was a MUCH cheaper option. The fabric bag is great to keep everything together. All-in-all, it's a great starter set. We added a couple of harmonicas and recorders to the mix for more fun! Don't hesitate to try it for yourself.

Lyons 25 Note (G-G) Bell Set with Case (Standard) Review

Lyons 25 Note (G-G) Bell Set with Case (Standard)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I can confirm the notes are perfectly tuned. The yellow plastic mallets are too long and flexible, but not breakable. Hardwood mallets give a nicer strike and a better sound if you don't strike correctly with the plastic mallets. These hard plastic mallets are a little "soft" which does not bounce off perfectly. I'm being picky. Stay away from other children bell sets that do not have very rectangular bars with sharp edges: the rounded edges give undesirable harmonics. These are perfectly square at the edges. The notes are high-pitched and loud, like the one 4-star reviewer wrote. You can use the handles instead of heads of the mallets to get a much softer sound for practicing. My wife: "Did you buy that for our child or yourself??" and "You're hurting my ears!" High pitched and loud. It is a bell set, after all. Opening it takes a little effort and concentration to press the button correctly. Our 1.5 year old is not able to open it. As long as it doesn't break and stays closed when it is supposed to, the little extra hassle of opening it is OK. The snap design appears like it is not ever going to break. The low C measured 1047 which is perfectly two octaves above middle C. The first note is a G that is 1 octave above middle G, and the last note is a G that is 3 octaves above middle G. So your basic C to C playing is 2 and 3 octaves above middle C. I'll try to record a "video review" that includes the notes, G to G.
