(More customer reviews)This is an outstanding xylophone mallet, and transfers well over to glockenspiel and orchestral crotales. This is the choice mallet for playing with larger groups, especially orchestras and wind ensembles. The staccato sound of the xylophone is enunciated when struck with these mallets, and simultaneously produces a resonant tone. On certain xylophones, especially ones made of rosewood, these might damage the instrument. I would also highly recommend NOT playing these on a xylorimba, marimba, vibraphone, or set of tubular bells. However, specifically for the xylophone, they are a perfectly designed mallet. On xylophones made of kelon, the mallets produce an especially sonorous sound while maintaining the staccato nature of the instrument.
