Evans Black Hydraulic Drum Head - 16 Inch Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Evans are the toughest most durable heads on the market. The hydraulic heads are ideal for single head applications (concert tomes or Vintage Ludwig Vistalite drums)or large diameter drums where you wish to control overtones.

(More customer reviews)Just sounds really cheap, not the brand but just this lower level skin... get one with a ring inside, this one doesn't have it and sounds tingy.

Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Amazing! I was looking for a low cost but high quality head pack to replace the factory heads on my set. These totaly transformed the sound of it, and i would recomend them for players who play rock or related genres. The snare rings a little so i got some of that moongel stuff and the ring went away. The toms aren't wonderful, but they certainly dont sound like crap. (i probably dont have them tuned right, so thats why) The bass head is the best part, and it comes with dampening rings so you can adjust how low you want it to sound. I would reccomend that you tune the head just past the wrincle point to get the most punchy sound. I like it that way, but if you dont just tune them higher. I use these mostly for recording, but i have used them on-stage a few times. great buy, especially for the money.

Evans G2 Tompack, Coated, Fusion (10,12,14) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)After trying all the different drum heads on the market
I find nothing compares to Evans heads. As a professional
drummer I will use nothing else. I prefer the G2 coated heads as they
offer maximum resonance w/ minimum damping. They will make your drums sing and last a long time. I am a believer and I am not the only one.
Every pro drummer I know uses Evans and swears by them.
They are simply the best.

Evans EC Resonant Drumhead, 16 Inch Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Only play Evans EC drumheads exclusively and turned to Amazon.com when I couldn't find the 16" EC resonant head on the online music equipment sites. Price was fine, but the method in which this retailer ships leaves a lot to be desired. It was sent through the regular mail. The USPS mis-routed this head to another part of Atlanta, which delayed my receipt of it by five days. Imagine my surprise when I finally received it and saw that the company I bought it from did not even box it up! They just stuck a label on the flimsy cardboard packaging that the drumheads are wrapped in! This packaging definitely showed that it took a lot of abuse on its way to me (thank you USPS), but fortunately, the head was fine. Would recommend to the company that sells these that they charge a little bit more for shipping, package it correctly, and ship it via UPS or FEDEX so that the buyer can track it.

Attack Standard Drumhead 5-Pack Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I heard good things, so since I was selling the drums, I gave these a try. I didn't expect they would sound like Evans Pinstripes, and they don't, but, they really have a pretty good sound. They tune easily, seat well, and for the price, they sound great! Pretty shocking really. I've spent allot more money on heads that sounded much worse. Good bounce, good sound, and strong. I'm not sure I'd buy these for the studio, but you could do ALLOT worse, and for a allot more money. I bought another set as back up heads to my touring set. Nice deal, well done!

Evans EQ3 Resonant Smooth White Bass Drum Head, 22 Inch Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you're looking for a smooth white resonant bass drum head, this drumhead by Evans I believe is one of the best. It has a 5" port already cut out for mic placement and also a muffling ring around the head on the backside of the drumhead. I like the opaque smooth white head compared to a coated bass drum head because a coated head could get dirty quicker, the smooth white surface is much easier to keep clean. This drumhead has made all my bass drums sound better and it looks great. A white resonant bass drumhead, to me, gives a drumset a brighter more noticeable appearance, no matter what the color is of the drum set. If the drumkit is vintage and the front head needs to be replaced, this drumhead will capture the retro look of the drums and probably improve the sound of the old drums too unless ofcourse you want a reso head with the brand name already on the head but you can always buy a sticker of the drum company to put on this drumhead. I've bought two of these heads, a 22" and a 24" and I'm very pleased with both of them.

Evans REMAD Resonant Bass Drum Head, 22 Inch Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This head is great!! Exactly the low end thump I was looking for! Evans has always made quality heads and this one does not disappoint. I have mine coupled with the Onyx 2 batterhead (black) and they make a great looking set as well as a sonically matched set. As close to perfect as you can hope for.
Buyer, beware the description, as you DO NOT get the interchangeable rings. Evans has since made a newer version with a fixed ring and lower port hole placement!! Know what you are buying!! Amazon and Evans needs to update the description!!
Definately recommend this head if you are looking for that low end missing from other heads. 5 stars for quality and functionality!!!!!

Evans Glass 500 Snare Side Drumhead, 14 Inch Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this head after reading that it is especially for hard rock players. That may be, but for my taste it sounds like crap. The sound I ended up with sounds more like I taped my snare wires to a tom-tom. I am using a Pearl steel snare drum. Do not buy this head if you want any degree of crispiness!!

Evans Hydraulic Blue Drumhead, 12 Inch Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I upgraded the bass and tom tom heads on my Pearl Rhythm Traveler kit (ASIN: B0002FO4R8) to these heads with amazing results. Before upgrading the open bottom toms had a lot of ring and were impossible to get the tone I wanted no matter how carefully I tuned them. I replaced the heads with these and was rewarded with an amazing difference in sound quality. The ringing, hollow quality I previously struggled to correct is now a nice "thump" sound that works perfectly with jazz and rock.
In addition to this head I upgraded to the 10" (ASIN: B0002E1FQW) on my other mounted tom and the 14" (ASIN: B0002D0DSO) on my floor tom. The results were so dramatic that I also upgraded the batter side head on my bass drum with the 20" bass drum head (ASIN: B0002D0E3S).
In addition to achieving the exact sound I wanted I also get far better stick response, and have found that tuning these heads are far easier than any other head I've used, including Remo that I use on my Ludwig kit.
These heads have transformed a relatively inexpensive drum kit into a professional quality kit that is incomparable in sound and performance.

Evans G1 Tompack, Clear, Standard (12,13,16) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I got these to finish up replacing all the heads on a new drum kit I recently acquired. These worked perfectly as the resonant heads on my toms. I'm using Evans all around, and the difference in sound quality was dramatic! If you're not satisfied with the sound of your drums, some quality heads are a great investment. That plus some good tuning can make even a low-end kit have a great sound. Highly recommend these heads to anyone!
