Evans are the toughest most durable heads on the market. The hydraulic heads are ideal for single head applications (concert tomes or Vintage Ludwig Vistalite drums)or large diameter drums where you wish to control overtones.

Evans G2 Clear Drumhead, 12 Inch Review

Replaced the stock Remo UK heads on my Ludwig CS Custom Elite Birch with a set of these (10-12-14) and wow, what a difference. The stock heads weren't horrible, but the punch these G2 clears have is incredible. They don't kill the tone like Pinstripes, but still give me a nice controlled sound. They tune easily and seem to have a wide usable range. I play a wide range of styles and these heads can handle them all. I've heard good things about the durability of these, but since I've only had them a few weeks I can't comment on that.
As long as they last a while, I'll be very happy.

Evans Glass 500 Snare Side Drumhead, 14 Inch Review

Evans Glass 500 Snare Side Drumhead, 14 Inch

I bought this head after reading that it is especially for hard rock players. That may be, but for my taste it sounds like crap. The sound I ended up with sounds more like I taped my snare wires to a tom-tom. I am using a Pearl steel snare drum. Do not buy this head if you want any degree of crispiness!!

Evans Hazy 300 Snare Side Drumhead, 14 Inch Review

Evans Hazy 300 Snare Side Drumhead, 14 Inch

Most of my playing years have been spent using Remo heads. I had to switch over to some Evans snare heads a few years back and noticed a vast improvement in sound, ease of tuning and durability. The Hazy 300 should be no different than the Remo Snare Side Ambassador since they are essentially the same head but I find the 300 produces a fuller slightly darker sound. To me this heads seems a little less finicky than the Ambassador with regard to tuning and seems to have added a wider tuning range to a few of my snare drums. All of my snares now use this head and I have been very pleased with the results.

Evans Hydraulic Blue Drumhead, 12 Inch Review

I upgraded the bass and tom tom heads on my Pearl Rhythm Traveler kit (ASIN: B0002FO4R8) to these heads with amazing results. Before upgrading the open bottom toms had a lot of ring and were impossible to get the tone I wanted no matter how carefully I tuned them. I replaced the heads with these and was rewarded with an amazing difference in sound quality. The ringing, hollow quality I previously struggled to correct is now a nice "thump" sound that works perfectly with jazz and rock.
In addition to this head I upgraded to the 10" (ASIN: B0002E1FQW) on my other mounted tom and the 14" (ASIN: B0002D0DSO) on my floor tom. The results were so dramatic that I also upgraded the batter side head on my bass drum with the 20" bass drum head (ASIN: B0002D0E3S).
In addition to achieving the exact sound I wanted I also get far better stick response, and have found that tuning these heads are far easier than any other head I've used, including Remo that I use on my Ludwig kit.
These heads have transformed a relatively inexpensive drum kit into a professional quality kit that is incomparable in sound and performance.

First off, i was recommended this head by my friends that are also drummers and they use these heads on their snares also. These heads are great! It sounds amazing on my snare! I usually prefer Remo heads but this head is real nice. and I LOVE the black. it makes my tama starclassic performer bubinga/birch custom snare look SICK! I like my snare pretty tight, sounding like a gun shot! and this head makes it pop!

I recently bought this for my floor tom, it sounds decent in comparison with my older one that came with my drum kit, the only problem is that scratching becomes visible after 4 weeks of playing, and had to replace the lower drumhead for some Evans G2 clear for it to sound good
