Vater Percussion Stick Bag Review

(More customer reviews)This has to be the worst bag I have ever owned. The Vater Percussion Stick Bag is made of a thin nylon-like material, there is no padding any where. I put my sticks in this bag and could not even zip the bag, even though I still had room in the bag for more sticks. First of all the zipper is not durable at all, the quality is poor, and it barely zips. You have got to hold the sides of the bag close together to get the zipper to glide together and close. There are no compartments on the inside, just 2 velcro pieces that are supposed to be to hang on the floor tom. This is a cheap bag, made with very poor quality materials and not very durable at all. I would return it if I hadn't bought online (too much trouble), I will just stick with a RoadRunner next time, so much for name brands.

(More customer reviews)In my "3 shows a week" touring days of yore, I would probably never have considered soft-sided drum cases - just too much abuse out on the road. But now that I only transport my kit (personally) a few times a year, I felt the expense of hard shell cases was simply not justified and decided to take a look at soft-sided drum bags when I purchased my new drum kit. I looked at several different soft case brands but kept coming back to SKB. SKB is widely acclaimed for their injection-molded hard shell cases which are used for many different purposes - including mil-spec applications. Knowing this, I decided to give them a shot...sight unseen. I should have known there was absolutely no risk involved!
SKB's soft drum cases are made with the same quality and attention to detail as their injection molded products. The heavy-duty ballistic nylon outer shell is lined with plush, furry padding that protects my drums' finish beautifully. The dual zippers are robust, yet easy to operate. The cases are sized perfectly to fit drums exactly as ordered - in other words, order the db1822 case and your 18" deep x 22" diameter kick drum will nestle snugly, yet comfortably in the case - no interference from lugs, mounts or spurs and no flopping around inside the case, either. I bought eight SKB bags to house my new pdp X7 maple kit (one extra db1214 to house my vintage Ludwig deep shell snare) and at first it was hard to tell the different sizes apart...until I discovered another nice feature - the case size is embroidered in red thread on the heel of the case. AWESOME!
As you can tell, I am highly pleased with this product and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking to buy soft-shell cases for your drums. FIVE STARS!! And no, I don't work for SKB!

On Stage DA100 Drum Stick Holder Review

(More customer reviews)This bag isn't bad. It's essentially just a metal clamp with a bag wrapped around it. It's pretty small, but seems durable. The material feels a lot like a wet suit, very stretchy. I was initially disappointed in that it's literally just a bag and a clamp. There's nothing keeping the form of the bag, like plastic reinforcement or anything, but perhaps this is an effort to keep the sticks from rattling during use. The sticks DO NOT make any sound in the bag during use. The "clamp" is just a C shaped metal arm with a screw that comes in to pinch it to a cymbal or mic stand. There's a lot of leeway to mount on thicker stands. The bag IS removable from the "clamp"; the C shape has a metal part that points down at a 45 degree angle, making it look like a C with a ? mark spiralling down it. I paid 10 bucks for this off of Amazon with free shipping, any more and I would have felt ripped off for such a simple construction. Very good, but the $30 retail is insane.

Nomad 6-Piece Fiber Drum Case Set Rock Review

(More customer reviews)I bought these cases with the hopes that they would be a durable drum case at an affordable price. After two gigs, I noticed the edges of the cases were wearing off and the seams were showing through. This happened with the whole set of cases, and even with every day use (gigs), the cases depleted quickly. I had to duct tape the seams to hold the cases together. I called and wrote to customer service about replacing the defunct cases, and got absolutely no response. I would not invest a penny into this company again.

I'm a professional musician that plays regularly, and I've been using the same pair of sticks for over a year now! They've got a good number of nicks in them, but still solid. The only reason I say this is because I don't use very much hardware, so the bag isn't really that heavy compared to what it could have weighed. If you are looking for a cheap durable bag, go for it ( just reinforce the shoulder strap).
