(More customer reviews)I absolutely love the dry sound of a rawhide shaker and this one sounds splendid and is the perfect size for my smallish hands. My only concern is that the holes for the stitching are a little large and as it's filled with tiny pebbles, several smaller bits have come out of the holes. While I was under the assumption that Meinl's Nino products were geared towards children, I would not recommend this to small children because of this - hence the 4 out of 5 star rating.

(More customer reviews)I had been thinking about buying a kicker for a while. I shouldn't have waited so long. I've been playing weekends since the mid 70's ... and lost alot of my hearing. Using in ear monitors has really helped but there was something missing...but not anymore! My circle of friends had never heard of it and thought it was really...well...weird! My drummer friends that tried it love it. I just wish the amplifier had come with rack mount brackets. Other than that I highly recommend it!

Pearl PGA-30 Hex Ganza Short Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using eggs and a larger version of this for years... the eggs were just to "too little" for most band use and the original size was just too large (and heavy) to be using for my taste. This one is just right. It's very light and easily balanced in one hand plus the sound is not "too tiny", it has some body and depth to it which makes it perfect for acoustic use while still maintaining that cut needed to be heard in a full band. This will pretty much be the shaker of choice for me now and in the future.

(More customer reviews)Good for basic rythmn, but you'll never hear these in a live setting, unless you mike them. Be like Mick Jaggar and get the really big gord models or better yet, some plastic or rawhide model, or a cylindrical shaker, you can at least hear them in the live setting.

My 6 month old daughter can easily hold the handle, and you definitely do not need to shake this bell to make it rattle - it's very sensitive. But for the price I think you can do better elsewhere.

What this item actually is, is a specialized shaker that delivers a single "Chick" shaker sound.
