My wife and I were looking at drums for younger children. Much of ones seen in kids toy stores ar just that - cheap kids toys that don't look like they would last very long if at all. We found this drum kit and ordered it. It arrived in less than one week (Thanksgiving got in the way)and it arrived in fine condition. Make no mistake, this a quality instrument for children, not just a "toy". It looks like it will stand up to a childs use for a long time to come and Vintage Drum has repair parts available if needed. When is the last time you saw that? The drums actually sound like drums should. My wife and I can hardly wait for Christmas to see our Grandaughter's face when she gets them!

(More customer reviews)Got this one as a late Christmas present since we got the Wii with the drum set and it was too difficult for out son to operate and he just wanted something to makes noises with :). This drum set looks great! We got it for our 5 years old boy an it is the perfect size for him, great for the price as well. It arrived sooner than we expected and we are sure our son is going to love it! The only thing is that it did not come with any instructions to put it together but went online and was able to find some generic instructions and my husband put it together pretty fast. Very happy with it!

(More customer reviews)Awesome drum set! My 2 1/2 year old loves them! They are so dark green they look black. She was a little disappointed when they didn't look her favorite color. The black set was a little cheaper and it definitely wasn't worth any extra charge for the 'green" set. Other than that - no complaints! (They do need to be assembled.)

(More customer reviews)I purchased the blue set for our 4 year old son for Christmas. The set arrived sooner than expected and was easy to assemble. I was very pleased with the quality and sound of the set. It was worth the extra money to purchase a true instrument as this than the cheap, poorly-crafted sets at the major toy store chains I researched. Our son loves to play on them and definitely doesn't hold back on hitting them and there are no signs of wear. Due to an unfortunate accident the cymbal arm was broken (not by normal use) and needed to be replaced. I called Vintage Drum Center and actual spoke to a live person; the owner none-the-less! (how often does that happen now?!)and explained what happened. Without hesitation he offered to ship out a new cymbal arm at no cost and apologized for the inconvenience (excellent customer service..take note major chains). The owner even did a follow-up call to give me the Fed Ex tracking number and offered any further assistance if needed. If our son continues to play and becomes more interested in the drums, I will definitely purchase his next set from Vintage Drum Center.

(More customer reviews)We bought this set in Green for our boys for Christmas and are absolutely thrilled! The boys love it!! And although the assembly instructions were a little on the vague side, my husband was able to put it together relatively easily in about a half an hour. We purchased this mainly for our 3 year old - who has been interested in drums ever since he started watching The Fresh Beat Band - but our 9 year old also gets use out of it. Honestly, even my husband uses it! It's perfectly sized for our 3 year old. And even though we knew it would be on the small side for our older boy (age recommendations are 3-8), he's still able to have a lot of fun with it and doesn't have much of a problem sitting at it. It's a great set to learn on and sounds authentic!! EXCELLENT quality for the price!
