SKB Trap X1 Large Drum Hardware Case, with Internal Tray and Wheels Review

SKB Trap X1 Large Drum Hardware Case, with Internal Tray and Wheels
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In general this is a quality case, works well enough for my purposes. I have a 5 piece kit, and all of the drum hardware, plus my seat and stick bag fit inside. Don't even have to break down my hi hat stand, which is nice. The internal tray is handy for auxiliary percussion storage.
However, I've used it for a few weeks, about 5 gigs, and already the rubber bumpers on the bottom of the case have broken off. Not a huge deal, but for this kind of cash I'd expect them to last longer. Also, I've had to make a repair/replacement of one of the inside straps. The clasp is quite cheap (plastic), and broke the first time I used it. Replaced it with a metal one from my previous case, which has worked fine.

SKB Trap X2 Drum Hardware Case with Built-in Cymbal Vault Review

SKB Trap X2 Drum Hardware Case with Built-in Cymbal Vault
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was very excited to get the TPX2 case but very quickly found that it has a major flaw.
First however, The Good:
-it is a brilliant idea to include cymbal vault on the side of the case - this worked flawlessly.
-i like the carpeted area for the snare
-the wheels are good quality and are lockable
and now, The Bad:
-your hi-hat and cymbal stands will NOT fit in the hardware section!! I suppose I should have understood that this is "a scaled-down trap case" (SKB's description) but because it loads vertically, and your cymbal stands are vertical, the "lift-off hardware tray" will NOT fit. In fact even if you don't use the lift-off tray, where one would presumably put a kick pedal or a stick bag, the closing lid will definitely not fit because most crash stands are too tall! Unless you're putting snare/tom stands in the hardware section you absolutely cannot fit your cymbal stands, even when taking them apart. When I discovered this I laughed out loud and said "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME."
I'm returning the TPX2 in favor of the TPX1.

Gator GP-HDWE-1436 Drum Set Cases Review

Gator GP-HDWE-1436 Drum Set Cases

I got this about a year ago, and the shoulder strap snapped in about two months. The only reason I say this is because I don't use very much hardware, so the bag isn't really that heavy compared to what it could have weighed. If you are looking for a cheap durable bag, go for it ( just reinforce the shoulder strap).

Gator GP-HDWE Rolling Padded Drum Hardware Bag 14x36 Inches Review

Gator GP-HDWE Rolling Padded Drum Hardware Bag 14x36 Inches

Ordered this item along with some other Gator cases to carry drums and other assorted percussion ware.
The bag holds a lot of hardware and has ample space. The one, but significant, flaw is the positioning of the
wheels. When the bag is somewhat loaded the wheels don't provide full clearance for the tilt and therefore you're
doing more dragging than rolling which defeats the purpose of the wheels. Tried adjusting the angle of the lift, but that wasn't happening. The positioning of the wheels in relation to the angle of lift is the only negative I found with this bag.

Gator GP-HDWE-1535 Drum Set Cases Review

This bag is amazing. I have 7 cymbal stands, my throne, and my hi-hat stand and ALL of them fit in this bag NO PROBLEM with room to spare. I could easily fit another 5 stands in there. Another cool feature is the circular pouch at the end to hold the cushion of your throne. My favorite thing about this bag is that it is made of a very thick and durable fabric so it wont rip. The inside has a really soft velvet feeling that is very soft so your things wont get scratched. This bag is definitely worth 69.99.

Drum Stick and Mallet Bag Review

Drum Stick and Mallet Bag

Bought this for my daughter for her band class where she plays percussion instruments. She was able to carry drumsticks and some of the other mallets in it just fine. Was nice quality....then our cat peed on it, so I am deciding if I want another one. I wouldn't hesitate to get this one again though.

Gator Cases Steel Frame Rolling Drum Hardware Bag With 100 Pound Capacity (Black) Review

Gator Cases Steel Frame Rolling Drum Hardware Bag With 100 Pound Capacity (Black)

I usually don't review stuff, but this bag is the greatest! It's perfectly balanced and stands upright when loading and unloading stands. No bending over to pack up at the end of a long night! Construction is excellent and it has room for plenty of everything. The only negative is that there is no external pocket that fits a bass pedal. But the for me the pedal does fit in the top of the main bag nested with the stands. Best $$ I have spent in quite a while..
