Pro-Mark R-RODS Rocket Rods Drum Stick Review

Pro-Mark R-RODS Rocket Rods Drum Stick
Average Reviews:

Good balance and I enjoyed the feel in my hands as well as coming off the drum head. I've played with rods for some time, and even with controlled force on the heads and cymbals, they started coming apart in only a few hours. If you are very very very careful, you may enjoy these, but I'll be trying another product.

its just a slimmer hot rod. rather flimsy. go for the real deal, not this one. good if you want a much softer sound than the hot rods though.

Out of all of the 'chopstick' variety of drumsticks on the market, these are my favorite. They have a great weight, balance and feel. Great articulation and sound as well, even for recording.

Vic Firth Steve Smith Tala Wand -- Bamboo Review

Vic Firth Steve Smith Tala Wand -- Bamboo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Great rebound and durable. MUCH BETTER THAN PRO MARK HOT RODS!! I can be me at a comfortable volume level and have the same feel as a stick. It's because of the rebound. Pro Mark Hot Rods dont' have good rebound. You have to make an effort to make a roll. Even though I think they're GREAT, as I said in my Pro Mark review, they don't have the rebound of a stick. These DO!! (I purchased the Bamboo for normal low volume grooves. Get the Birch if you want REALLY sensitive stuff!)

Zildjian SDMJO John Riley Double Stick/Mallet Pair
Average Reviews:

The stick/mallet combos are a great idea, but the material they use for the mallets leaves a chalky residue on the drums and cymbals. If you don't mind marking up your kit, they're ok. Also, the sticks tend to dent the heads since the tips have a fine point.

pearl drums played for almost 2 years and I found these sticks super good, they are thin but are coupled to the sound required recommend it, buy good quality products, buy drumsticks erred in leaving much to be desired but this is not good no loss

These sticks are awesome! Provides a really nice, lighter sound which doesn't bother the entire family, since it's about 20% as loud as normal sticks. The sound produced is really nice, the cymbals and high-hat sound pretty awesome too.

RegalTip 110NT Regal Hick Nt Sticks Combo Review

RegalTip 110NT Regal Hick Nt Sticks Combo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Before discovering this gem I was stuck with 7a sticks, which ran between .5 and .515 inches in diameter depending on which company made them. I have small hands and play lite, so was never quite satisfied with 7a sticks. This stick is 16 inches long with a .475 inch diameter, and is a perfect fit for me.
I realize that many drummers use 5a sticks for rock and either 7a or 11a for jazz, but if you are in the small minority like myself, this stick will noticably improve your speed.
A few other points in this stick's favor include a great nylon tip that gives superior cymbal definition, especially on hi-hats. It also is sturdy and can withstand heavier playing.
Other sticks you may want to explore if you primarily use 7a are the Joe Porcaro signature stick by DRUMS IN THE WIND (lite maple with a diamond-shaped nylon tip for intricate cymbal work). This stick measures 15.75 inches long by .525 inch diameter. While thicker than most 7a sticks, this one is feather lite and will let you blaze. I also use the PROMARK 7a (15 3/8 inches long with a .5 inch diameter), and their Jazz model, which has the same diameter, but is 16 inches long - both in hickory with nylon tips. If you do consider the PROMARK sticks, avoid their LA line of sticks. These are factory seconds and are of inconsistent quality.

for the price you can't ask for more, light sticks, nylon tip, the only CON is that they are shorter by 1/2" to what I have got used to.

RegalTip 550W Drum Brushes Wood Handle Review

RegalTip 550W Drum Brushes Wood Handle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Like all Regal products, very well made. I use this particular brush for Latin feels, as the wood handle sounds great as a cross stick clave' sound. For most other work, I prefer a heavier rubber coated model. Non- retractable means the bristles can become bent over time, but I keep mine in a plastic tube when not in use, but the positive side is they do not, and cannot, rattle. Only complaint is that the handles could be a little thicker, otherwise highly recommended.

Innovative Percussion Nylon Bundle Sticks, Pair Review

Innovative Percussion Nylon Bundle Sticks, Pair
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was entirely skeptical about these when I bought them, but I'm occasionally a risk-taker, so I bought them. I half expected low-quality, poorly manufactured plastic sticks poorly held together, but as expensive as wood bundle sticks are, and as frustrating the speed at which they wear out is, I figured it would be worth a try. They're excellent; I've had them for months, and use them regularly, and everyone in my band agrees that they even sound better than wooden bundle sticks, especially on cymbals. They have a good grip, a kind of hard foam, that has great traction, and an adjustable ring around the middle that can slide up and down for different sound textures. The only wear that occurs is much more gradual than wooden bundle sticks, thin fibers begin to peel off of the sides, but they can be pulled off with no harm. I have been the guinea pig, and I would recommend these to any drummer or percussionist who is tired of buying dozens of expensive bundle sticks.

Vater Percussion Wire Tap Sweep Review

Vater Percussion Wire Tap Sweep
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've owned a pair of Vater retractable wire brush sticks for years--- they were excellent, sturdy and great sounding. After extended toll, I decided to replace them with another pair-- I mistakingly ordered these sticks (the cheaper, non-retractable model). The result: the base of the brushes became "wobbly" in a matter of days. The sticks still function, but they don't feel right. The solution: upgrade to the $20++ retractable sticks.
I hope this forewarning helps.

I bought this about 5 months ago. It's held up and does the job so far. It fits on your HI-Hat stand and holds sticks. It's kind of jiggly but stays in place when in place. I recommend it.
