(More customer reviews)I have to say first off, these silencers are far better than I could have hoped for. This set includes silencers for the kick drum, snare, 3 toms, crash cymbal and both the top and inside of the hi hat. All of the pads for the drums just sit on the heads and the texture of the material makes them naturally stay in place. The only confusing part was the two small pads with bands. The long loop goes under the bottom of the hi hat and the short loop goes around the rod between the two halves of the hi hat. Both pads are placed on this way, on opposite sides, muting most of the sound of the hi hat opening and closing as well as their impact when playing while closed.
I don't have any way to measure specific volume output, but before putting the silencers on the drums, I would wear ear plugs. With the silencers on, I would feel comfortable closing the door and playing them in the middle of the night with my kids sleeping in the room next door. My hopes were to quiet them down enough to keep from having the cops called on me, and they blow that away. They're great even for keeping your family from having to listen to your mistakes as you learn.
Fantastic product and I wholly recommend it for anyone needing to practice without all the noise.
