(More customer reviews)I bought this for bringing my 5 piece kit to local gigs and they work for that. The padding is nice and the drums fit snugly. It takes a little doing to fit the kick and floor tom but it's understandable. Two things prevent me from giving it 5 stars. Although the bag straps are good for using them over you shoulder, it's not the easiest to use when you just want to carry them by hand. Being on the short side (5' 5"), using the long straps by hand results in the drums dragging on the floor. A short handle on the side would've been convenient. The other thing I wished they had are side pockets to store some of the hardware.
I bought these instead hard cases because I didn't think I needed the extra protection. This still holds true. But a big advantage of the hard shell cases is the ease of putting the drums in and out of them - a friend has them and it's a cinch. But as my title said, for the money, it protects my drums during local travel.
