(More customer reviews)My new favorite drum. Period. I have a conga set, a couple doumbeks, some pan-drums, and a really cool 14" djembe but none compare to this guy. I've been a percussionist for over 10 years and when I got my tax return I bought a few drums and I am completely blown away by this guy.
This thing is almost bomb-proof too. Very solid and heavy, probably a 1" thick wood core.
The range of sounds, and it's volume is what blew me away though. This is absolutely professional quality. The tones are much richer and the head is much more responsive than my drums that cost three-times more. I couldn't believe the sound coming from a somewhat smaller sized djembe.
If you are considering this djembe, stop it, just get it. I'd bet my drum collection this one quickly becomes your favorite. If you are a beginner, get it, this djembe will get you hooked.
