(More customer reviews)I purchased this drum set to replace my hand-me-down PDP MX series. It was a perfect replacement. I ordered the item and received it exactly 8 days after ordering. After a quick un-boxing, i was shocked. The finish looks much greater than i could of ever imagined. quality is VERY good for the money. the 6/8 composition sounds fantastic. It works for any playing style. I play many styles including metal, rock, punk, funk, Reggae, jam and really anything. The snare is good, but i went ahead and purchased the pearl limited edition artisan II Snare Drum. The Sensitone Snare Drum(Included) is still a nice snare. The included Protone heads are trash. But like any new drum set, you will need to buy heads that sound perfect to you. I purchased my favorite Evens Hydraulic tom heads, Evens EMAD Bass heads, and G2 Snare head. On a final note, One of my bass ring's wood plys was split when i got it. I called the seller and they now have one on the way. I might not even need to send back the old one. It is a bummer this happened but at leased it doesn't effect the sound when i play it til' i get the new one. 5 stars for great service. Pearl really knows how to make drum sets. This drum set is definitely a step up from the PDP drum set I used to play. It is also a cheaper shell pack. I would suggest anyone to purchase this shell pack and also pick up some decent drum heads. Enjoy.
