Its perfect for getting the deep, quick, punchy sound out of the bass. its really not necessary, theres a lot of there ways to achieve the same effect but this is quick and easy and looks good too. The instructions aren't very clear but basically you take the head off and put it under it and tighten it down. theres just one and it works best if you put it on the beater head
