The texturized body adds extra depth to the sound, an incredible resonating bass pours out of the body as you lay your hand in the center. The extra high frequency ringing pitches from tapping around the rim add an extra level to the variety of playing styles you can experiment with on this powerful tool. Deeply entrancing melodies can be played on this "percussion" instrument". Pay no attention to those who review these sounds as a negative, they have failed to look at the bright side of life. If you want a 'regular' sounding djmebe, get a wooden one, with an animal skin head! If you want a futuristic sounding drum--buy this one.
