Teach Me Drums: Getting Started (DVD) Review

Teach Me Drums: Getting Started (DVD)

This is only a beginners instruction DVD teaching you some very basic and frequently used beats like the 4/4 and a few other variations. A good portion of the instruction also covers assembling your kit. The presentation is neat as instructor Tommy Igoe takes you step by step showing you how to assemble your gear and also teaching you your first basic lessons with help from his students. Both Voyetra (maker of the DVD) and Amazon don't sell the DVD but check local stores who may be selleing it for real low prices. If you are looking for a decent beginner's drums instruction video to gift your little one or one for yourself to get started on drums, go for this DVD.

Watch and learn from Tim Wimer. The instruction DVD assists an instructor in teaching the art of playing the drums, reading beats, stick techniques and rudiments of drumming. I like the music that allows student to play with recorded musicians to develop an ear and feel to play with a rhythm section. Tim also has an audio only version of this product. He's good.
Taught students for a few years using this book as a supplement to playing other various styles of music. Students like to play their own stuff eventually, but this gives them some drills & lessons to assist them develop as drummers.
AGS
