Gibraltar GBDP Bass Drum Pads Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Bought this for hooking up a Reed Switch driven bass pedal for Rock Band (www.scorehero.com in the hardware forums for info). It worked good, it is not quiet by any means. If you have your own house and like the thump, it is great but you will probably need to pass on this idea if you are in an apartment or something (unless maybe if you are on the ground floor). I'm not a "real" drummer, but it does seem to be a little mushy. Overall I was happy with the purchase.

Bridgecraft Child Drum Set with Seat, Sticks & Cymbal - DRM316 - Silver Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I can only wish that drum sets of this quality had been available when I was learning to play. It is not a toy; it is a real drum set, just smaller and limited to a bass, snare, high tom, and one cymbal, plus a stool. It's heads are real and tunable. The sound is quite good. Someone starting on this around age 5 and taking lessons could either add a piece in a year or two, or move to a bigger set around age 9. But for it's purpose, it's an excellent product.

Vic Firth Signature Series -- Steve Gadd Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you don't like using a lighter stick, these sticks just might change your mind. There is something about these sticks I enjoy. Maybe it's the round tips that make playing these sticks unique but they feel good. Less attack than your average stick, best for jazzier or softer songs. Another must have for a diverse drummer.

Union 3 pc. Junior Kids Drum Set UT3 *GREEN* Complete with Seat, Sticks, Pedal (for 3-5 yrs old) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a great little kit for a small kid, but the picture definitely makes it look bigger then it really is. The bass drum is about the size of a large pot you would cook pasta in. I was a little disappointed when I saw the size, should have read the measurements more carefully.

Ahead Drumsticks 5B Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought a pair of these (5B) over 5 years ago. As a metal drummer I hit hard and heavy. I have from 16 inch to 20 inch crash cymbals and never had a problem with these sticks. I have yet to replace the original sleeves. Yes, there are dings, nicks and scratches on them, and have no worries. I will be getting another pair just to have on hand.

EastWest Ministry of Rock Virtual Instruments Collection Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)In the past, I would spend hours trying to make other guitar sample sets sound realistic. I tried some that sounded decent, but they were lacking the "oomph" of today's rock, and I still had to fight to keep them from sounding synthesized. Enter Ministry of Rock. Rythmn guitar? Instantly realistic chords that flow together almost seamlessly, with meaty muted chunks. Solos? Great sounding ones can be pieced together with minimal effort. It's like a dream.
Drums (especially the Ludwig set) are powerful and deep. And as for the basses... well, if there's anything that MoR has taught me, it's that there's a HUGE difference between a recorded bass, and a bass that's been recorded (and played!) properly. The basses offer nearly as much flexibility as the solo guitars, and have more than enough energy to hold their own.
I haven't gotten too much into the included acoustic, but from fooling around with it on the keyboard, it seems extremely playable, with an absolutely massive number of chord variations (flats, sharps, etc). It's chords only, but Gypsy has a plucked version that matches up nicely, if you find it necessary.
If there's one thing I have to complain about (and it's more of a minor quibble), it's that the guitar chords are limited to a single range of tuning on the guitar. I would have liked to have had some extra samples with the guitar detuned a bit, for some lower-range sounds.
As the reviewer below mentioned, it does require a seperately purchased iLok key (which can store a hundred or so registration codes), but that comes with benefits of it's own, such a license portability. So it's either a pro, or a con, depending on how you look at it. I run it at home as well as work, so it's a great bonus for me.
All that aside though, Ministry of Rock is definitely my new sample set of choice.

Ahead JJ1 SPEED METAL Aluminum Sticks Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)These are by far the finest drum sticks I've ever held or seen. The tips have "trails" when you play in the dim light, as if they glow. Perfect weight balance, extremely durable and strong, cymbals sound better than I've ever heard them, and they are built with an aluminum core. These are absolutely perfect for my electronic drums, and I am certain that they will last forever, even if I use them on my acoustic set. SICK!!!!!!!!
