(More customer reviews)As with the Sabian Stax, I bought this pedal at a music store chain. And like the Sabian Stax it was about half the price. Mind you that was 7 years ago, so the price might have gone up. That's the ONLY drawback to this pedal. Sure, you can pay a little more for some DW or Axis pedal. But this here offers the same smoothness in the luxury pedals for half the price yo!!
The smooth paddles (instead of the rounded, or clunky ones) offer better precision when it comes to hitting the base drum...at least that's what I've noticed from other pedals. I love the fluidness of the chain pulley system, how you can adjust the tension of the pedals, and the adjustable arm that connects to the left pedal. It also has prongs to screw into the floor (if you wish) on the left pedal, so it doesn't slip around while doing some 42 minute drum solo using double-bass. The beaters are adjustable, and you can buy different ones should you prefer a different sound. I'm sure most of these are standard on todays pedals, but Tama's IC started it all.
The carry case is very durable and the pedal fits inside like a foot in a sock. I've dragged this thing around for years, sat on it while eating pizza, used it for a stool, and defended myself with it from some clown trying to hit me with a pail of water.
Overall I can't brag about this pedal enough. The only ting that bothers me is the price! You'd be wise to only get one if you're serious about drumming. As any drummer can tell you, you can go broke buying accessories and equipment for your kit. But this has lasted me 7 years without a single problem.
