(More customer reviews)It's a nice blend of ceramic and fiberglass tones, if your drummin' on the sound hole you'll get a really nice deep bass sound, then move over to the ceramic side for more of the classic UDU sound and finally mix it up with the bright sound of the fiberglass bottom.
It really is a nice mix of various tones, however the drum is very large and not too comfortable playing in your lap, and if you buy the solid ceramic model it will be slightly heavier, so i guess it depends what your preferences are, if you don't mind sacrificing a bit of awkwardness and discomfort while playing, for a variety of sounds in one drum then this is the one to get.
Keep in mind that because it's 95% ceramic it's much more fragile than Meinl's Fiberglass models, and oddly enough Meinl only has cases to fit the fiberglass models for now, so this and all ceramic models need to stay in their box when not in use.
So weigh the pro's and con's and make sure this is the drum for you.
