(More customer reviews)I play acoustic latin jazz, and this drum has a lot of character. Lots of low end, a great rim shot from the wood hoops -- not ear-piercing like many drums I've tried, but thick and plenty loud. Lightweight, too. I don't really hear that much of a difference between the bamboo and maple woods. For the price it seems like a good deal; made in Taiwan, but if you want made in USA you'll have to pay twice the price.
