I can't praise this pedal or this company enough. I have two kits, a 25 year old fusion set of Pearl Exports and a Mapex Saturn pro rock kit (John Bonham style). The Pearls I take on the road to practices and jams while the Mapex kit stays in the studio. I'm not gigging much anymore so I can't qualify myself as a professional drummer, but I've been playing rock, fusion, country, rockabilly and pop for 40 years at a semi-pro level. Initially, when it came time to buy a new pedal, I was going for a single, but when I saw the Dixon double, and compared prices, I went for the double. It's really a great deal, in some cases, by comparison to some single pedals, it's a two for the price of one deal. You may ask, why would a single pedal rock drummer who doesn't really play metal and who plays a mean high hat even want a double bass pedal? And that's a good question. The reason is that there are plenty of times when a single pedal drummer can get a certain sound or effect with a double bass pedal, whether it's playing the occasional quad riff or just ending a song with a sustained combination cymbal roll/bass roll. You don;t have to be a metal drummer to enjoy the fruits of the double bass pedal. Anyway, these pedals have a great response and they're smooth and quiet. They're built well and have all the necessary adjustments. More to the point, this is a company that stands by its products. ~seabgb
