(More customer reviews)My old music stand was one of those fold up portable stands. Unfortunately the lip on those stands is narrow and music falls off it very easily. Those portable stands are not very stable, either.
This Manhasset is solidly built and will last a lifetime. The lip is wide enough to hold a music book or two without things falling off. It has simple friction adjustments for the angle and height; there are no clamps to have to loosen and tighten. This particular model has a second lip to hold a bow or other small items. I am very happy with this stand.
