We moved to a new building and my colleagues from another department planted it in my office as a "housewarming gift." It's such a conversation piece and since I work at a sports television network, it's just the kind of toy the folks here love, so I kept it. It was hung from a homemade stand, but now it has a stand also purchased from Amazon and a special gong mallet, and is often rung for homers, touchdowns and general punctuation (not often rung by me, but by colleagues who enjoy running into my office, ringing it, and running out). I'm told that Wuhan manufactures the "Stradivarius of gongs" and I'll tell you this one has a beautiful tone -- and it's a beautiful piece. It's now a fixture and I wouldn't part with it for anything.
