(More customer reviews)I did quite a bit of research before buying the Gibraltar SC-JDRMM Jaw Double Ratchet Microphone Mount. I wanted an alternative to floor stands for gigging (trying to lighten my load) and this item looked like a good bet. It's a well made mount - rugged and very adjustable. I had no problem attaching it to the bottom rim of a 5 x 14" snare drum and using a Sure SM57. It stayed put and I was able to place the microphone exactly where I wanted. Besides seven inches vertical adjustment of the rod, it also tilts side-to side and best of all, backwards. That backward adjustment is an especially nice feature to accommodate different microphone sizes and placement. At this time I think it's unique to the Gibraltar product. I used this mount on a rock gig and got a nice, clean snare sound with no vibration/added noise from the mount. I assume this is due to the rubbery coating on the claw and rubber fitting where the mic attaches. At the end of the night I just loosened the claw, detached it and put it in a gig bag. It'll be ready to go next time with no fussing around. All in all it's a great value and I'll be buying a couple more to use with my floor toms.
