(More customer reviews)This snare drum absolutley shocked me. I own my share of snare drums, its a bit of an addiction I admit, Most of the time I only play one all the time and the rest sit. Until I got one of these My go to snare was a Mapex Black Panther steel snare drum, now thats on the shelf ! First of all this is an all brass shell so you dont get the ring you get with steel, its more toned down however this drum is stunningly LOUD, the crack will wake up the dead! its so rich and deep sounding, almost as if the drum were eq'd already, a super FAT backbeat. I have the 6/1-2 by 14 model by the way. Anyway its my main snare now and it turns heads everywhere I play.This drum sounds as sweet as a maple snare with more volume, its extremely articulate and sensative when needed and will hold its own in the volume deparment cutting though any guitar amp made, do yourself a huge favor and just get this snare drum, its simply amazing ! I swapped out the stock heads for a Remo coated controled sound batter.
