(More customer reviews)This unit is the "best of breed" for combination digital tuner/metronome/tone generator/weather station. The pitch +/- lights give much better guidance to exact intonation than the Korg CA-30 Chromatic Tuner. And the metronome is the loudest among the digital electronic ones I tried, soundly beating out the Korg MA-30 Ultra Compact Digital Metronome.
However, I have found that when playing the violin, it is still hard to hear the metronome beats above the instrument for these electronic units. Nothing penetrates like the clap on the wood and ring of the bell of the classic pyramid Maelzel metronome, such as the Wittner 6411 Metronome Mahogany Wood, Mahogany Wood Case With Bell.
Two hazards with this unit: when you slide the on switch toward the tuner position, it must pass the metronome position. If you are sitting in the middle of an orchestra on stage and don't slide it into the right position, you will suddenly start to beep! For that reason, I take on stage only a pure tuner device without this risk. My favorite is the same brand as this unit, the Intelli IMT012, available only in a few stores.
The other hazard is that if you leave it switched on in tuner mode, it will drain the battery rapidly. It doesn't have the automatic off that the Korg and IMG012 models have. So you have to keep a spare battery on hand if you plan to make it's use critical in performing situations.
